Genially: a film review

Imagen
This Genially has been created to promote and encourage oral interaction among the students of one of my classes. We have continued working, like in previous tasks, with the cinema topic. The followed steps were the next ones: 1-       Students are divided into small groups of three or four taking into account the different levels to create balanced teams. 2-       They have to choose a film and look information about the cast, plot, characters and everything they would like to include about it. 3-       Then, they start to organise and write the information on Genially 4-       The teacher helps them during the process if they have technical problems or doubts. 5-    Finally, the students show their presentations to the rest of the class explaining every point, one minimum per every student of the group, included about the chosen film. To sum up, the use of...

Storyjumper: a funny story

My students were divided into groups of three and four. They could choose their own groups although I supervised them to check there were students from different levels. The sequence of the tasks was: 1-       I created a model to show them in class before doing the activity to give them background and some basic notions about the task 2-     Then, taking into account it was their first time using this tool, I gave them almost total freedom to create their Storyjumper. The two only conditions were to write a funny story and use informal language and some phrasal verbs. 3-       After that they used their laptops to complete the task, which took a couple of sessions. 4-       Finally, they presented their booklets to the rest of the class and we organised a little speaking to give our opinions abouts the created booklets such as which ones have been the funniest and so on The main lear...

Edpuzzle cinema

Apart from being popular movies for many of my students, my choice is based on the importance of the dialogues that appear in both scenes. Besides, we can use them to practise several skills as well as reviewing irregular verbs and other contents. The sequence of activities was: First, the students watched the videos at home – I flipped the class in this part – to look for possible unknown words or expressions in the dialogues of both films, and I asked them to write down all the verbs that appear in both clips too.   Then, we watched both videos together in class and reviewed the new words and expressions they have found in the dialogues previously. Afterwards, I wrote in the whiteboard all the verbs they have written down from the videos at home a...
