Genially: a film review
This Genially has been created to promote and
encourage oral interaction among the students of one of my classes. We have
continued working, like in previous tasks, with the cinema topic. The followed
steps were the next ones:
1-
Students
are divided into small groups of three or four taking into account the
different levels to create balanced teams.
2-
They
have to choose a film and look information about the cast, plot, characters and
everything they would like to include about it.
3-
Then,
they start to organise and write the information on Genially
4-
The
teacher helps them during the process if they have technical problems or doubts.
5- Finally, the students show their presentations to the rest of the class explaining every point, one minimum per every student of the group, included about the chosen film.
To sum up, the use of Genially, which is a tool
that they have used few times before, has been interested to practise oral
skills because of its interactive, visual and cooperative features.
Nevertheless, it´s more time-consuming than a more conventional speaking, so I
think it´s something that can be used occasionally, for instance, at the end of
every unit or semester.
